This is a screen out of Miss Allison Anders´ heart.

A Boat on the Sea

There's a lamp that won't light
In my poetry room
And children out playing
And a big full moon
My man's barricaded down in his womb
He'll be coming out soon
I remember when I met him
He blew in like the wind
No one was more beautiful
Or dangerous than him
He blew through my soul
Like a tangerine wind
He'll be coming out soon
I never knew I
Was built so strong
My heart
My heart is a boat on the sea
I never thought I
Was built for hurricanes
My heart
My heart is a boat on the sea
Luxury looms on a fog bound day
I'm not alone now and I'm not afraid
I'm clean and I'm free it's all stripped away
My debts are paid
I wonder if he ever looks down on the sea
And thinks about the time
He spent with me
I know everything's exactly how it should be
All's right with this world
I never knew I
Was built so strong
My heart
My heart is a boat on the sea
I never knew I
Was built for hurricanes
My heart
My heart is a boat on the sea
In the cold and the dark...
You're the grace of my heart
In the cold and the dark...
You're the grace of my heart
In the cold... and the dark...
You're the grace...of my heart

  • I can't get enough of this movie or the music. I LOVE THIS FILM! Why can't they make more like this? Dynamite casting and intelligent story line. Great "cuddle on the sofa" date film. This is in my DVD collection to stay.

  • @studio33128

The CHARACTERS are missing today in the music business,my friend.:-).

In THOSE years of Carol King, Phil Spector & all the others MUSIC was made

because of the MUSIC....not because of the money or the image.

Such CHARACTERS NEVER NEEDED A CASTING SHOW.

Or do You believe the Supremes or The Beatles

would have ANY chance in our modern casting shows in our TVs...???...

  • i love this movie!!! its a MOVIE ALL OF MY FAMILY WATCH TOGETHER! its real good music is great and a very moving story!

  • @cloverstar87

    YEAH..It´s a great story:-)

Did You know that it is the story of

Carol King & Phil Spector & all the Teeny Boppers

from the 50-till end of the 60s...???

Yeah..this movie about Carol Kings life story and the beginning of the 60s

should be seen in every music school to show, how the music business was

    in the beginning.

But for me personally it´s such a great gift to me from Miss Allison Anders,

who was the producer of this movie, that she allowed me to upload these parts of the movie and gave me personally the permission to share it here on You Tube.

That shows also the "Grace Of The Heart"

  • Allison A---One of the best fade outs ever.

  • @Raindropser3 The only problem some of the songs ain't on there and grace of my heart which is awesome isn't on there either. neither is hey there. But still a good album /

  • One of my all time favorite movies...I just love when I really believe the actors are the actual people the stories are about. Gotta find it on DVD

  • Just adding my 2 cents here. I love this movie as well. When I feel the need to right myself I listen to these songs. There is something so special about it.

  • The movie is good, but the music is better!

  • @Raindropser3 The Supremes were as deliberately groomed as any other pop group ever, in order to appeal to the maximum possible audience. The most famous example of a band allowing an outsider to change their image is of course the Beatles; if they hadn't listened to Brian Epstein, they would never have had the cross-generational appeal that they did have. They also made great music, but choreographed stage movements and wearing suits instead of leathers were crucial to their success.

  • @Raindropser3 I like this film too, just as I like a lot of the music of this period, but where on earth did you get the idea that the Brill Building was about making music for the sake of music? Even this movie makes it absolutely clear that it was a business first, and if you managed to make good music as well, that was a bonus. Popular music in the recording era has always been driven by bottom line, because it took record companies to distribute records. That's only beginning to change now.

  • @alias1126 I'm sorry about your wife. That song choice is touching and a nice tribute.
