I also grew up with Everick. I lived in Simpsonville, SC just down the street from him in westwood neighborhood. I can't tell you how many times I would see him dribbling his basketball around the neighborhood. Every once and a while he would stop by and play basketball with me. He was a great guy. He used to get my Sister and I tickets to the Louisville games as well. I'll never forget when we were attending the Metro conference in Columbia SC and got to sit the the team after their 1st gm
One of the best in your face dunks of all time. Take that Irving Thomas! You tried to save pride by getting off your butt quickly, but the pain was all over your face. At least you were smart enough to leave UK. Then Sullivan caps off an incredibly intense game by hitting the game winner.
I grew up with Everick, we were really close in high school. He sent me tickets to his college games along with a couple other friends (Chris & Scott). I even played on a city team with him, Hal and Bruce in the 5th grade. We lost touch after I went in the Air Force but I think of our bunch a lot!
Yes, we both graduated in 1988. We reconnected on facebook a few months ago. What a stand-up guy too. Im really proud of him and honored that he's my friend.
