It's weird. Billie H. didn't have an overwhelmingly great voice and her range was what, an octave and a half maybe. But my o my, what a great singer. A genius singer!

What a pleasant surprise as I was expecting the recorded version from the 1930's. This sounds to be about the mid 50's - the period right before the voice became what it became. Beautiful piece here - give me all the Lady live you've got!

I would add her improvisational quality, too; I've just been learning this song this week, and Billie makes some very substantial changes to the composed melody, particularly in the bridge, that point to the fact that she was a real musician who commanded respect from her illustrious peers (particularly Lester Young).

I'ts amazing. Billie Holiday singing a song like this with her 2 octave range can reach down and pull my heart out. With today's high octave so called singers like Beyonce and Lady GaGa I get nothing.
