How to dry wet carpet in the basement after a water damage from a leaking water heater that flooded the basement. Water was removed from the carpet and the pad using a Water-Claw sub-surface flood extractor device. Containment Zipwall, magnets and an ELE Heat Drying machine set up. This method of Hybrid in place heat drying was very successful at saving the wet carpet soaked pad and damp walls.

  • After 22 years of performing water damage restoration you finally figure out how to dry a wet carpet in a basement many different ways. The most obvious way may not necessarily be the best way. A dry out can range from saving all the wet carpet, pad, and walls, or totally removing all that is wet and damaged. Most jobs fall somewhere inbetween. We having been using Heat-Drying and In-Place Drying recently. But that is not always the appropriate method for drying out a wet carpet.
