Just bowing down to the great blues man Peter Green.

There seem to be few sound clips of Tim Mills great PG Blues pickups, so put this together.

Peter Green doesn't endorse these pups, and as far as I gather is really bored with the 'out of phase' debate.

I like 'em but however close I get to the PG tone, I'm still not close to Mr Green's unique phasing and feeling.

A true master!

  • hey man you sound fantastic! sorry to bother you but do you only get that squarwky sound with both pickups on? in the middle position?

  • Thanks for the comment.

Yep you only get the 'squarky' out of phase tone in the middle position. In the neck or bridge positions you get a cool vintage PAF tone (not too high output).

I'll try a post when my Marshall gets back from repair.

  • @totosmeels Actually you can get many assorted sounds in the middle position. All you need to to do is lower either the neck or bridge volume a touch and it brings the guitar back into phase and you can get some great mixes that are not squawky..:)

  • Pretty close, but listen to Larry Corsos' Green Manilishi pickups, they nail it perfect.

  • Nice playing. It certainly gets that P. Green tone down nicely.

  • Outstanding tone!! Found this vid looking for info on a used pair of these pups. I'm convinced. Thank you for posting this. You do a very credible PG!

  • Fantastic stuff 5*s

  • Closest I've heard to Mr. Green. Great Job. can you tell me what you hadf the volume and tone controls set to for the neck and bridge pickups?

  • great tone and feel....love that greeny tone but let me ask you...in your opinion do you think these bk sm pups could capture a freddie king, duane allman or dickey betts tone....sure do sound good.

    thanks...

  • the name is in the original video title - they are called 'PG Blues' by Bare Knuckle Pickups.

  • Great playing. Wonderful sound

A question if I may? Are your pickups braided two conductor or four conductor type?

  • Yeah man, that is the tone!! Great playin' my friend you nailed it.
