This is a video of me in a nice big cozy sweater making some Dahl soup for all y'all. The music used is a portion of Mozarts Don Giovanni" and the end credits are from Beethovens "Ode to Joy"
Sorry that the subtitles didn't quite line up but I wanted to give the ingredients in written format and I guess I should have checked it before I published it to my computer...woops...

  • Mmmm, I love dahl! I shall attempt your recipe at some point. Do you think it would be ok to put some cumin in? I love the stuff and I know it's used in a lot of Indian food

  • Quite possibly. I wuold tread lightly with the cumin as I didn't experiment with that but if that is a spice that suits your fancy in Indian food, why not? :D

  • that would be nice with some vegetable

    samosas on the side

  • I haven't made Samosas yet...I think because I have never really deep fried anything for fear of a grease fire. :)

  • Alloo gobi is good maybe with some peas for a veggie...that is potatoes with onion and I think they are cooked in Ghee :)

  • dahl is one of my favorites , even if ut gives me gas . good job . JV

  • Thank ye :) As with most stews it tastes better the second day :D

  • Thanks for watching! It actually is really good. :D It tastes better with fresh sauteed onions and minced garlic ;) but I was lazy yesterday lol!

  • This looks really good for a very cold day...AND it's really cold here in the UK...Think I'll whip this up for my evening meal...

    Too back I can't give it 5*s

  • (cont'd) and these are very good, but you have to be careful with the oil. Ma used too much in one batch and they were good but too greasy (looked like some french fries had been set down on the brown bag, that's how you know you put too much in LOL!) They were a hit at the christmas parties this year :)
