No, it's not only a movie. It's a propaganda video for a cult called Scientology. And they use a German hero for they propaganda.

Vielen Dank für diesen Beitrag! Tom Cruise hätte vielleicht eher Joseph Goebbels spielen sollen. Subtile Indoktrination?!

it is a shame to humiliate any German historic character by giving a role to this sectarian worthless little american piece of tiny shit which refused to meet some SS veterans who could help about his also little and aslo worthless role created by cionists .He was shaken about jews in this movie , you know.

NONSENSE, NONSENSE, NONSENSE
dont be stupid!!

I understand your concern and I'm not even trying to argue it. In fact, I'm agreeing. I'm just making the point that it's just a start and the opinions have to change globally. But don't worry, this movie has been made into a joke already. It's been moved back twice and now they've chosen Valentine's weekend for the opening? lol Nothing says 'I love you' like a good political assassination attempt on Hitler.
It wouldn't surprise me if the movie ended up going straight to DVD

(1)Maybe the movie will go straight to DVD in the US but in Germany the topic of the movie has the potential to become as important for the public like the "Die Passion Christi" become for the fundamental Christian believers, Mel Gibsons is a hero for them. You must understand that our bloody history is still a big topic in school and media and most of us understand that our whole nation guilt is our legacy.

(2)That's its way so many places schools streets are named by the siblings Scholl. The potential of the emotional benefit, that some of us stand against the regime, can be a big positive impact for Cruse. Scientology know that.

Glaubensfrei, I agree with you that every ticket sold is a good thing for scientology and a bad thing for Germany. But that's true everywhere. For every dollar someone spends on a Tom Cruise movie, money goes in his pocket and putting money in his pocket is as good as making a donation to the cult. Germany is, without doubt, the leader in the fight against organized scientology and the world should take notes but this is absolutely a global problem

Right it's a global Problem but Germany is the main target in Europe and in the moment they try everything they can to get rid of their negative image in the German public. We Germans have bad experience with totalitarian systems and know a scientologist plays a German hero that tried to kill the leader of our totalitarian system of the past what bitter irony. He even got a price for courage for that.

The press split about this issue. But if we manage to get the message out what is the true purpose of the film premier in Germany 2009 (Message: See Germans we see you like you want to be seen so see us like we want to be seen) lot less people will watch it.
