This... technically isn't an opera. It's a musical by Gilbert and Sullivan.

I remember the hype for this movie. I didn't understand then, but now, I think it had something to do with the fact that all the main characters in this film were all cartoons Walt himself came up with. They are all the original cartoons: first hero(Mickey) first villain(Pete) first heroine/damsel(Minne), first pet( Pluto) etc etc. All they needed though was Oswald. 8P
