  • Joe is a moron, and as long as the GOP continues to support their version of Cindy Sheehan they aren't getting anywhere. I mean, c'mon. At least Sheehan had a real story.

  • "Obama is doing to the United States what Granholm has done to Michigan in the last 6 years. Run it into the ground.'

    Eric, Right On!

I can't wait until she's out of office.

  • why would you attack the conservative republicans when right now those "neoconservatives" are your friends? Ohh and if it weren't for these so-called "neoconservatives" from fox news and AM talk radio you wouldn't have any support. So instead of bitching, whining and complaining because they wanna help out maybe you should be a little more thankful to the far right for helping to get this movement off the ground. Ohhh I forgot paultards like losing.

  • Umm!!! 1 Trillion and 10 Trillion is quite a differance.

  • If he had any brains he would have disavowed McCain and endoresed Ron Paul the second he had the cameras on him. This guy sucks. Hes a waste of time. Typical left right crap. Why does he not repudiate Bush and the NeoConservatives? The Ron Paul campaign and Campaign for Liberty started this movement and now its being infiltrated, diluted, distorted and completely bastardized by WWE moronic hacks who thought McCain provided some sort of contrast to Obama. Wonderful!

  • where were the tea parties while Bush ran up the deficit...

Both parties are run by special interest I agree but you can't hold a standard to just Democrats. Not to mention inflation is the only real way to manage the deficit, the responsible savers and foreign lenders will suffer but consumer America will just restart except a Starbucks coffee will now cost 10 dollars instead of 5

  • It kills me to hear them talk about being the party of Roosevelt and the party of Lincoln. They'd call Roosevelt a "socialist" (UHC, square deal, environmental and corporate regulations) and Lincoln a tyrant (states' rights durr).

They'd be wrong of course, but they'd be just as self-righteous and loud as they are now.

  • joe is so brainless

  • Yes, citizen spending falling off hurts - and it can hurt bad. But when it happens it is a healthy self-regulation of a free market to sustainable levels. Gov. spending instills artificial confidence (ie, bubble)

The fed will "buy" treasuries, which is essentially printing money. And the phrase "quantitative easing" is simply another phrase for printing money.

  • But citizens dont spend during a recession. Uncertainty stays their hand and its up to the government to make up the shortfall to boost confidence in the markets and promote people to keep money flowing. A moderate level of inflation is generally accepted to be required for economic growth. You are right about printing and spending, although I haven't read anything about the treasury being sent an order to print off more than usual. Spending $50 would lead to sever devaluation of the USD.

  • I definitely agree about the repubs - they are not conservatives.

I actually do not rely on goods and services of the gov, beyond the basics. And the basics cost about 1/3 of the current fed. budget.
