  • OH god! the sound of you filing is horrible! Curse my hi def sound system.

  • @MavHunter20XX lol Kirsti said the same thing.

  • It just seems common sense that the 10/22 should come this way to begin with. I am guessing this may have to be a lawyer issue. Ruger could turn a great gun into an excellent gun if the bolt locked back on the last round.

  • Well Brandon thanks I finally got around to doing this mod. Thanks it was so simple and works great. Know my 7 years old son will not have any troubles with the slide. Thanks again and happy shooting.

  • Just bought my fiance a Ruger 10/22 last night for her wedding present. Looks like I'm gonna have to do this modification before I give her the 10/22. Lol.

  • @suncountryairline Ever heard of a marlin 60?

  • Hello: This is where the Dremel Tool , and the flex shaft works really well. He did a fine job with the file, looked great..

  • Brandon, love ur vids....mark south louisiana

  • Much better than factory. Thanks a lot man.

  • I just finished doing this mod on my 10-22, following your (very clear) instructions. It's GREAT - thanks. I'd been frustrated with the factory configuration of the release, this is so much better.

Are you familiar with the after market magazine release that works by pulling in the same direction as the trigger, similar to an AK mag release (rather than pulling the lever towards the muzzle)? I found one made by Champion, about 10 bucks, that is working out very well.

  • I like this modification for 10-22s. One instance where I elect to keep the factory configuration is with a hunting rifle. I prefer the security of a "two-step" release in the woods if I have to unload.

  • Well done!

  • This was an excellently done video, easy to understand and follow! I have a stainless 10-22 with a side folding stock, and stainless 3x9 scope. This might give me a nice little project to do!
