  • you all do know that this is a traditional BRITISH folk song right? It really has nothing to do with the American south or any political or historical event in America.

  • @emm346 Yes, I know it's a British folk song, that's why I put my ancestors in this video. My ancestors in this video are descendents from the English, Irish, Dutch, Scottish, French, and German. They came to America and mixed with Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek, Blackfoot and Iroqois. I'm proud of my ancestors and where they came from. I just added pictures of where my ancestors in the video lived. I do believe there is a photo from Oregon.

Thank you so very much for sharing this with me. And welcome my sister, my friend :)

Your very welcome. Now you can see why the song you wrote, "Blood Remembers" is meaningful to me. We are who we are because of who we came from.

    Sincerly your friend,

    Samantha

  • This version of the song is American , the british version would never sound like this, so brits claiming this just want the coolness factor.

  • @SamanthaPonce Thanks for sharing something personal

  • @emm346 where did you get the idea this was a british folk song? everywhere i looked it said it's an american song...

  • @emm346 I guess you don't understand that the very existence of Jack White's rendition of this song contradicts your comment.

  • @emm346 Most songs I play were originally British folk songs. I play mostly Appalachian folk and Bluegrass music and since I am a descendent of British settlers as are most of the people in this region it's what we grew up learning and became part of our cultural identity. Just as much as they are a part of British culture.

  • @scrubs22222222 Quit your political hyperbolic trash talking. This is an amazing song sang by a Yankee btw. He's from scary black Detroit. Boo!

  • This has to be the best song ever!!!

  • I love your video Samantha. God bless you and keep you.
