  • what breed of horse is racing?

  • Majority of these horses are probably the racing type of quarterhorse -- not that "typee" cattle herding type of quarter horse.

I also saw Appaloosas that day. Some could have been very athlete grade horses.

These horses are racing a quarter of a mile. Racing quarter horses usually have the advantage over other horses. They are the fastest sprinters in the horse world and can beat a thoroughbred at a quarter-mile!

In chariot racing, there is no standard. Any type of horse can compete.

  • it's a quarter mile track, one chariot has 2 horses as you saw in the video. At this track in Jackson only 2 teams race at a time... but at the worlds in Ogden Utah as many as 4 teams run against each other. It gets to be quite the rush.

  • that seems really cool

  • OK that looked like a ton of fun. How long is the course 1/2 mile? how many competitors? only 2 horse chariots allowed?
