@Diamondsofmayhem Oh, that isn't luck manipulation. That's just the NES's crappy hitbox at work xD Real luck manipulation comes into parts like 7:46, with the flamestick and blooper (this wasn't tested at all). The flamestick could've been in a different position just as the blooper could've been too, due to events earlier in the runthrough, but alas. :P Thanks! :D

marios sprite graphics malfunction at 7:41 through 7:45

its like you knew were the gap in the hammers was going to be....

@Diamondsofmayhem Graphics didn't malfunction at all. This is actually a glitch that is possible Non-TAS. If you look at when I exited the pipe, you would see I pressed down for a short time. If you do this underwater, then that glitch will happen. The hammer part only took 3 rerecords :P Once again, NES hitboxes suck.
