my water is opaque(brown). it was cloudy and started to clear up then all of a sudden it turned green. we then added alot of shock and within 15 minutes it turned brown.......

@SuperGrant15 - it sounds as if you've got a lot more going on in that water. If the water turned brown, you've got metals - especially iron - in there that has to be treated. I would also suspect that your water balance is out of line. Each condition & problem has to be taken care of simultaneously to treat the overall pool. Have the water professionally tested.
