  • I wonder what it was focusing??? Cap was on a lens...

  • @anthroposparthenos It is about speed of AF run through the whole screw and back. Some lenses have short and steep screw, so they focus faster. Some have long screw and are slower (but sometimes more accurate).

  • LOUD

  • CHEAP .)

  • @xmeda is this a good lens? I'm thinking about getting it.

  • @kimsterjizznugget

better than sig or tam 70-300 + lighter and smaller than any other simillar lens. 55-150mm is wery good even with open aperture, 150-230 needs to be stopped down a bit, 230-300@F8 is perfectly usable. With open aperture at 230- 300mm its weaker (like other 70-300). If anyone needs better, then lets buy DA*60-250/4. If compared for example to much more expensive nikkor 70-300VR, this lens has only minor disadvantage - six aperture blades, which sometimes is visible in bokeh.

  • @kimsterjizznugget + also compared to that Nikkor 70-300 this lens is smaller, lighter and starts at 55mm which is on APS-C sized sensor a lot better than sucking 70mm.. They know it, so recently they tried to copy that - they started making Nikkor 55-300/4.5-5.6 DX VR, but that although being DX only is still bigger, heavier, starts af F4.5 and also is more expensive than DA55-300.

    Canon started with 55-250..

  • Yes hehe. Have ordered it myself. But I was dissapointed with the noise. My kit lense also makes a terrible noise. Scares all the animals away :\

  • cool

  • .notice that focusing ring rotates pretty quickly, but screw mechanism in this lens is designed to be precise (good for manual focus) with small increments than to be quick....
