I mainly to pole bending/ barrels and other assorted speed events. However, I have been entering my barrel horse in English and Hunt Seat classes. . Somewhat successfully. I have also learned that English saddles do not hurt my bad hip as bad. So I have been trying to understand how to post correctly. THIS HELPED TONS! Although. How do you know how long your stirrups need to be in an English Saddle?

excellent video! i especially liked the part when the instructor told the student to close her eyes and feel the diagonal; as well as the 'post for 5, sit for 5, and stand for 5'. more riders should be watching this video! ps-the horse is a beauty, too!
