Who is that masked Japanese lady with Sea Shepherd?

During the recent whale hunt season in the frigid waters of the Antarctica the Japanese whaling fleet lost a Japanese mariner. Apparently a Japanese sailor fell overboard in those cold forbidden waters. The Japanese fleet was now in search and rescue mode for this unfortunate sailor.

Upon the scene Sea Shepherds garbage scow the Steve Irwin offered to assist. There is a video on YouTube filmed on the bridge of the Sea Shepherds garbage scow. There one can see Captain Kangaroo communicating with the Japanese ship the Yushin Maru #3. The communication between the two was aided by a Japanese lady on the bridge of the Steve Irwin, translating for Captain Kangaroo. Her Japanese was perfect which left no doubt as to her nation of origin. However this young lady covered her face from just below the eyes down with a bandana of the type the Jessie James gang wore when holding up trains, stage coaches, and banks in the old America West.




Question is, why did this young lady find it necessary to hide face? She was the only one in the video with a covered face. Could it be she is perhaps ashamed of her activities in betraying her nation and culture? Or maybe she comes from a family connected with the whaling industry?

Why would the lady be on that ship and yet be embarrassed to show her face? Please do not try to say she is hiding her face to avoid being identified and harassed when she returns to Japan. Sorry, not buying that.

@gibbo1988 for sure you right. To the video presenter with you far fetched ideas, why would that be a bunch of "huey" to think it could be for protection? Every time the Sea Sheperd stops the fleet from whaling they are causing them to lose MILLIONS OF DOLLARS - and if there is someone on the Sea Sheperd that maybe is a Jap then don't you think it might be possible that greedy money hungered people that invest millions into the whaling industry would threaten her family?
