On May 20, 2011, KIPDA hosted a Centenarian Celebration which was one of many events held across the KIPDA region in recognition of Older Americans Month. The older adults in our region, particularly our centenarians, have made a great and lasting impact on all of our communities. Without the hard work and tenacity of our older adult population, we would not be where we are today. KIPDA received information that approximately 50 centenarians reside in the KIPDA region. 15 centenarians and their families were able to join KIPDA, State and Federal officials to honor the many virtues each individual possesses and recognize them for their contribution to our communities. KIPDA, along with State and Federal officials recognized each of the centenarians and presented each with a personalized plaque, Senate Proclamation and a luncheon.
