This game was my 3rd year university project. I worked on this game together with Simon Baldwin, Rich Smart, Jenny Griffiths and Chris Boyes. My main contribution was the physics and collision system which was built entirely from scratch.
The game was originally made for Linux so it could run on the machines provided by the university. It was controlled with Wii remotes, one of which was mounted on a custom made rocking platform (with a big red button!). Unfortunately it's not so much fun playing with a keyboard, but it went down great on the demo day when we had everything set up across 3 giant rear projection screens. We used the screen in the middle to show a summary of the race so onlookers (and there were a lot of them) could see how the two players were doing.
Yes it is indeed Bristol. Nice to know we did it well enough to be recognisable.
