I find it funny that many you who comment about how the CDC Officer's are "overpaid babysitters." when infact many of you are armchair quaterbacks! CDC Officers work 3 Friday's a month with no pay and still have to exercise a high level of professionalism even after being assulted. Matthew Cate's is a liar. He state's the release is do to constitutional care. When in fact it stems from a law suit filed by two inmate's (Clark & Armstrong). It cost the state $165K per Death row inmate and $36k per Mainline/Reception inmate. Why is CDCR sending DeathRow inmates to outside hospitals such as Standford, UCSF, Marin General and other highend medical institution for top medical care when they're facing DEATH? It isnt the officer's that are overpaid. IT'S THE STATE'S MISMANAGEMENT!

An imate could build up $50,000 or more and then purchase property with fixer uper house. Then allow the work crews help remodel the home with cash from 10 percent of the top of all field workers.

California put marjuana user in prison and wonder why their full. It also fail to push the Feds to take responsiblity for illegals. Get rid of illegals and over half the crime will go away then allow prisoner to earn money picking fields. Trust me it works the south, imates can build up a foundation as long as there not forced into punitive damages. If they had a ten year sentence and were forced to put money into an account that is controlled by financial planners.

The equivelent of 7 prisons huh? Think of all my tax dollars saved by not paying the babysitters who are already over paid. It's unsafe ? Half the people you have incarcerated are non violent offenders, who are you trying to B.S. ?

Cut the salaries of CDC staff, and put it back in the coffers of California
