SECOND IMPRESSIONS: Silent Hill Shattered Memories

Just a short Audio Blog about whether or not what I have seen of the upcoming title lives up to my original expectations. I know I sound a little different this time around, it has been a rough couple of weeks, but nevertheless I hope you enjoy what you hear and expect a reasonable sized, multi-part follow-up in a month or so where I review the game from a hands on perspective.

Yes, but that was VERY early in development. There really hasn't been any NEW gameplay since a little after summer ended. I am hoping that they have fixed all of those issues with all the time they've had since then, like body parts disappearing into walls and everything. I do remember that part of the demo, it was kind of frightening, the fact that the two bodies went through each other, but I believe they would not have something like that in the final version. Just wait, it' be great :)

@trumpeteer23 I assuredly hope so. I have confidence in it and as I said, my hopes are high, but I am a tad more wary just to be safe.

I think the graphics look fine. They are sharper than Silent Hill 2-4, they look better... just wait until you see it on a non-crappy youtube streaming quality. The graphics do look fantastic for the quality of Hardware they are dealing with, and with an HD plug in it will look great :)

The problem wasn't pixelation, though. It was the texturing. It looked too smooth and bright from what I saw, and at one point I actually saw a monster jump on Harry's back and move into the model frame like there was a massive masking error.

But like I said, even if the graphics are not terrific... as soon as those monsters start chasing you... even on YouTube you forget about anything that detracts.

I don't know man. I mean the fact that you can give different answers to that questionnaire and get different outcomes in the game play increase the replay a lot. I saw three different ways to meet Cybil. one she was at a dinner with brown hair and was very nice. another she was in dark back uniform with a ponytail and an attitude, then there was a video where she's a bartender.

@BlueDragonOfUNA I would not be shocked if this was the case but I am fearful that it might end up being as I mentioned in the video. A lot of things seemed very 'path' based, and there did not seem to be many path origins.

But the biggest reason I fear it might end up being limited in the "Profiling" area is because profiling is a new idea and to get it to be truly expansive you would need excessive data space. Most new ideas never deliver in the same way the could later.

Why revamp it in such a way? It ruins everything that makes Silent Hill what it is. That's even before considering how it ruins the characters from Silent Hill 1. Konami needs to stop giving Silent Hill to these hack developers.
