Oh my god this is in galveston? When did it happen?

my sister's husband went over the seawall in the late 80's or early 90's and is now a quadraplegic.(hope that is spelled right)

The fire was under control in about 2 minutes. Once GFD turned on the foam then the fire began to rapidly drop. I never had any fear for the firemen because they did their job so well. EMS and other rescue workers didn't approach the car until the fire was pretty much doused though but thats just a safety precaution. The only one who died was the driver of the Focus, the paper mentioned the driver of the Silverado was alive but never mentioned the passenger (he lived too btw).

What you can't see was the fireman in the pickup on the other side trying to rescue the dude while it was burning. We were scared shitless for the firemen in the truck. The paper said only 1 died, the firemen saved the other guy. I love those guys!

Its such a shame that they died though. This is why I will always drive some sort of SUV. It may be a gas guzzler and bad for the environment, but they're usually safer in wrecks.
