hahahaaa that was beautiful
i'm singing this for a uni audition next month and now have an idea of how to make those judges giggle.
I too am a huge annie ross fan. what a masterpiece this song is, and you did a devilishly good job of making it fabulous. that was the most entertaining thing i have seen for ages.

This guy is awesome! LMAO!!! And really cool phrasing too.

With all the craziness going on here, and it was brilliantly funny, it's easy to overlook the fact that the jazz artistry here was phenominal. Bravo, Mark!!! :))
Incredible artistry - the control and virtuosity here is formidable and amazingly humorous. A lovely tribute to Ross' masterpiece.

Ta so much - Annie Ross is a total legend - amazing to think she wrote TWISTED in 1952! most people think it's a Joni Mitchell song (after she covered it on 'Court & Spark' in 1973). I think the 'double decker buses' refer to Annie's childhood in Edinburgh!

Wow, it's great to get a reply from the genuine article! You make me proud to be an Aussie. Music is really just a subset of comedy (I speak as a composer). Annie Ross - yes, and so young (she was only 22). Genius.
I can't imagine how much rehearsal it would take to be able to do your delivery - so much detail.

The greater the song, the easier it is to learn - as i'm sure you will know only too well. and after all, i'd been singing along to it for DECADES before I first sang it on stage, but I will admit the first couple of performances of it (at the Black Cat in Fitzroy, Melb) were a little shaky... ;-)
