@DavidBynoe Thanks for that. This will help a lot. And I will. I'll post a video link on here when i'm finished.

Nice work sir! From design to finish, how many hours? I'd like to guess 100-200...

Beautiful work, nice to see the steps and craftsmanship used to create them. Woodworking is becoming less and less practiced in many areas, for the quick and cheaply produced disposable garbage out there. Makes me proud to be Canadian, even if I am stuck living in the U.S.A.

Thank you soooo much! I needed a design like this to make my own wings because I don't have a program to work on nor the time to figure it out on my own. You're amazing! :D

I'm planning on making some for my Robotics class. Any advice or help?

@superfantasticastar I drew up some plans here: members.shaw.ca/dbynoe/paperwings.pdf They are designed for paper, but can be made out of whatever. Just keep the centre to centre distance for the pivots proportional. Post a link when you get it done, I would love to see how they turn out.

Stunning, absolutely beautiful, five stars. :D But I am interested in what program you used to design the wings?

@Teenageher0 - I worked out most of the link dimensions with cardboard and pins, then used Working Model 2D to refine some of the movements, finally I dropped all those numbers into Rhino 3D so I could work out the exact dimensions of all the parts (things like how they nest together when folded, if the points will impact any other parts etc.)

So beautiful and graceful looking awesome job!! I have a question, what was the program you used to simulate the wing movement digitally?

@akiracon - Working Model 2D, a really really ancient version of it.
