The athlete learns to use his or her hips for the reaction without leaning or getting out of balance. The key to the bands is to not stretch them, thus keeping all pressure, reaction and control over the hips for a faster reaction using the hip flexors and extensors as the main catalyst. The pressure should stay on the balls of the feet while keeping the control over top of the hips. Keep knees at ninety degrees, chest out, shoulders back.
