Mundell has such sweet phrasing and taste.
And always a few chord voicing surprises.
The kind of dialogue between two musicians adds up to more than the whole. I'll take this over some guy showing how fast he can play scales.
Music is about feeling and expression not just finger gymnastics.

Everytime I watch this, I realize that us-guitar players-tend to focus too much on guitar brands, pedal effects, amplifiers, etc.Sometimes we spend too much money on usless things...when all we need is a decent set up and the will to be musical. Thanks for sharing this video!

Two masters making beautiful music. If I could ever learn to accomplish something like the first 1:08 of this clip I would be ecstatic.

Jim Hall's daughter's name is actually "Devra", not Debby, and the song predates her by some years.

Actually, the song is both for Bill's niece and for Mundell's daughter, "with both Debbies in mind" is the definitive phrase I've read more recently... Evans was, though, very close with Debby Lowe when she was in her infancy.

Jim hall Daughter is the Debby from this song

Confirmation that good playing is not just about shredding and dazzlingly fast runs and licks. It's about co-operation between people; the musical communication between these two greats is top of the shop.

And Gene Lees wrote the lyrics.
