Today, at 8:35 AM, Controlled Demolition Inc. pushed a couple of buttons, and boom, the old Oil-Natural Gas Power plant, is gone. This has polluted Central FL for 44 years and now, it is gone. There where 21 explosive charges that where blown almost simultaneously. It was a great sight, that brought relief, to all the people that live in Port Saint John.

  • take a deep breath of that highly carcinogenic dust . would have been safer for everyone and everything for that site to be dismantled without spewing all that toxic dust. feel bad for the men and woman who will be rebuilding on that toxic waste.

  • haha its not for cleaner air, I can promise you that. These old fuel oil steam giants are not as efficient as the new combined cycle. Its all about heat rate,

  • by-fare the only amazing thing that has happened in this town

  • Used to live in the Boardwalk condos next door - too bad I missed it in person ... as cool as a shuttle launch!

  • Haha everybody talked about this for days... its the most interesting thing to happen here ever

  • i live on curtis rd

  • My father worked there from 1966- until 1997

  • @TheFlipVlogs Thank You, I stand corrected but i was only trying to make light of the economy and it's job situation right now.

  • That;s probably the most xcitment these people have had since having that plant up in running in their town! There goes more American jobs, straight down the drain, oh well!
