A sad excuse for a war movie. I realize that filming a battle is very expensive, but Gross should have at least stuck with military planning rather than some sappy love story back in Canada. The final 20 mins or so were good, but the rest was God-awful.
Should have been titled "Love In Time Of War" or somesuch.
1 star out of 5.

How exactly would that be "pro-nazi" in light of the nazi party not having been founded until 1920 and the battle in Ypres having occurred in 1914?
That said, the chlorine gas used at Ypres would've been hell, particularly for soldiers who managed to remain conscious. However, to survive the spread of a shotgun in the trenches sounds excruciating beyond most comparison.

@MrShaneVicious How am I a nitwit or a dunce? A dunce is a jester and I'm obviously not joking about this; and I'm not a half brain because I've just proved you wrong, so why don't you shut up and come back when you say something good to say?
-
@superenglish1 you're A nitwit, please stop posting to me dunce

@MrShaneVicious No they weren't, the Persians used it against the Romans almost 2000 years ago; so you obviously don't have a degree in History :)

Passchendaele, The Lost Batallion, Fly Boy's....
Not to many WWI moveis out there, never realy have been. Holly Wood is starting to come out with alot of remakes of old moveis and a few TV shows. It's a good trend.
But one movei I think alot of us action fans would like to see remade for the modern screen is (What Price Glory). Cut back on the love story in it and center mostly on the Marines, with todays effects and acting I think it would be pretty good !

@BigMek456 Yes, gas intended to kill opposing soldiers.
-
@MrShaneVicious Do you mean poison gas? Because the french used tear gas against germans in august 1914.
-
@BigMek456 No they weren't. The Germans were the 1st to use gas in warfare, against the Russians at Balimov, in January 1915. I have a degree in History and the military history of Europe was a particular interest of mine.
-
@MrShaneVicious No, the french were the first who used gas.
