  • Money should be poured into sociological research to mend this condition. This particular type of incident happens quite often. I think I've heard of it happening a couple times while I was going to middle school and high school, and the schools I went to would be considered quite tame compared to American high schools.

  • We also need to study what kind of mindlessness and disconnection with reality made these teens post the video without fearing being recognized or prosecuted.

  • It might have something to do with them being cheerleaders. Being better than everyone else and always getting what they want may have desensetized them to consequence. It seems they displayed this attitude when talking with the officers.

  • There are 4 groups in each high school. The ultra cool. They are anxious to stay cool and will go to great lengths. The wannabees who are also anxious because they want to be accepted by the ultra cool. Both groups look down on the rest. Then there is the middle level --- youth who have sane friendships, experience no anxiety and contribute to culture without making fools of themselves. And finally there are the isolates who have withdrawn altogether. Thank God the middle level is the majority.

  • bdavetain, thank you. I did not experience any "CLICKS" until after high school. there are clicks in work places too. I have to laugh who whould want to join a minimam wage click ? I agree clicks are based on cruelity.

  • and to add about that horrific story of Shanda Renee Sharer, 2 of the 4 accused are not out of prison after only serving 8 years. What message does that send, the torture of a 12 year old burning her alive (autopsy reports said you asphyixiated on her own burning flesh), the messaage i see is the taking of a life as a teen is not that horrific, I believe this Florida case can be the beginning of finally showing where do we really stand.

  • Very well spoken, no doubt about it.

@JoM80, i knew it was a matter of time before someone brought God into this. Have God pay bills.

  • Very well spoken

  • These people commit crime because they don't have a purpose. They don't have a God in their lives - they have nothing to fear.

  • One more comment, this could had been worse, what if anger really took over and this became more than a beating. What bothered me was the luring to destroy someone, as in a case here in Indiana years ago, a 12 year old girl was lured, thinking she was with friends. That 12 year old girl, Shanda Renee Sharer after being tortured for hours was then burned alive by 4 other teenage girls. People out there should read her story as well and wonder t themselves..whats happening in society.

  • Very deep analogy of what is transpiring in todays society, Sometimes i think myself, might be the lack of faith, the denouncing or religion, the teachings. Is morality becoming corrupt by these actions of throwing values out. A times i think without that faith, those morals, can humanity fuction without being driven back to the dark ages of no moral law, and the strong will survive either alone or in packs. Can man survive by just his own beliefs and his definition of moral judgement.

  • whate makes teenagers do this shit is that every fucking teenager nowadays IS FUCKING RETARDED IM 15 YEARS OLD AND I KNOW HOW BRUTAL AND HEARTLESS MOST TEENAGERS NOWADAYS AND I KNOW HOW SOME PPL JUST LOVE TO PICK ON OTHER PPL FOR NO APPARENT REASON!! the cliqes really piss me off there so full of themselves and love to pick on the weaker ones! i say who gives a shit if ur popular ur still a piece of grabage liek the rest of us! that really pisses me off and they deserve to go to jail!!

  • Looking at these videos and applying a sociological viewpoint to them is always such a slap in the face. Because its true. And these are things we know well and have experienced first hand.

  • To understand it even further one could analyse where morals and ethics form the boundaries of order, how the media influences these boundaries, and how these groups each relate to these boundaries. Also it could be examined what conditions are generally prevelant when someone crosses these boundaries. e.g. the stimuli required for these cheerleaders who were at one point in balance within these boundaries(low sense of consequence + low need for this sense due to being virtuous) to cross it.
