Hotel Playa Chiquita Lodge - Puerto Viejo- Costa Rica (Traveling From Panama to Costa Rica)

I left the cool early morning mountain air to arrive at the hot and humid Caribbean Coast approx 13 hours later. After two car rides, one air plane and two buses I arrived in front of the dimly lit sign of the Hotel Playa Chiquita Lodge. This lodge may not be for everyone but I like the rustic, laid back Caribbean charm. It even has mosquitos' nets hammocks and a private path to the beach.
Wolf, the owner-manager led me from the open air lobby through a dark corridor to a dimly lit balcony then up 3 steps to the room. Really I don't know how he could see to put the key in the lock. A brief tour of the room and we were headed to the fridge. It was stocked with beer and assorted beverages. I was told to help myself to write my own tab and all would be settled at checkout.
Collapsing after a long day I slept like a baby thinking about hitting the beach Playa Chiquita early in the morning.
