@tweirup Just keep moving without stopping. Once you see Bugs holding onto the rope, then you can stop if you want. If you want to release yourself from the rope, press Down. To release from the rope when getting across, just keep moving.

On level 2 how do you go across the rope, I tried everything and can't get across it.

Did you know there is actually a game just like this called "Woody Woodpecker: Crazy castle 5"? Yeah, I'm FUCKING DEAD SERIOUS. It is just like this shit, but in 3-D! Could this get any worse? Is there actually 5 crazy castle games?!

@mrmovie364 Yes there are. I think 5 took some missteps, really. Like respawning enemies, what the hell? Makes it a lot harder when the enemies don't stay dead, like they do in the first four games.

Apparently Tweety is the same height as Sylvester (fixed in the 3rd game). When I used to play this, I would often challenge myself by trying to not kill as many enemies as possible. It's too bad there weren't too many dungeon stages in the game (4 total). They're my favorite. I had to look in the manual to see who the enemies were- I didn't even recognize Merlin mouse right away and looks so droopy looking for some reason. Also, Coyote is often seen with Merlin a lot in the same levels.

Stage 2, 16, and 22 are the only three stages that absolutely require you to kill anyone (though trying to get past Stage 3 without killing the Tweety on the left is absolute insanity). Also surprisingly, you can beat Stage 16 killing only two enemies: the potion is surprisingly optional.
The reason Wile E. Coyote and Merlin appear together so often is because of limited graphics space: there are three sets of enemy graphics used in the game. Merlin's set is used in most even levels.
