why the fuck were you watching anyway?

if you don't like it, i can understand, but they are not retards or anything. you little prick.

  • Umm, that's not pretend fighting. It's an inch and a half thick piece of wood, making full contact with to your head.

  • I would just like to say, as someone who is an MMA fighter, the SCA is pretty freakin epic...In fact I'm saving up for gear to join this. I've done martial arts since I was 8, and always wondered about European martial arts, besides boxing I had no idea. As a martial artist, I can say these guys gear up, and hit HARD. Went and watched some guys, guy had me put on his breastplate and hit me, just so I could see. And it does HURT. Punch me all day... But Rattan sticks suck! Can't wait to start! =D

  • @Yrmwulf And yet, Miyamoto Musashi ( the greatest swordsman in Japan) fought over sixty duels and won them all. In many of these duels he used wooden swords against opponents armed with real katanas.

  • Yeah, we do this stuff with real swords made of steel.

  • @Piotreksus Hi! This is in Europe - if you listen carefully you might hear we are speaking German.

I have done both steel and rattan fighting, and I personally prefer rattan. With steel, you have "real" weapons, but with rattan, you have a "real" fight - aiming for the head and eyes, using full force, doing everything to trick your opponent.

But it's purely a matter of personal preference - there's room for both games! (and steel sounds much cooler) :)

  • @UniqelyNerdy I understand what ur saying and I still kind of like SCA but in Europe we do it with real life steel weapons but accordingly we use heavier and thicker steel armor. I see SCA is fun and less dangerous but I sill prefer heavy fighting with steel. Try for example the movie from the battle of Grunwald "From Dust and steel" on youtube

  • @Yrmwulf I like steel weapons too, but I don't like getting hit with them. It might ruin your day. Besides a real sword or something might go into a slot in the helm, and that my friend might ruin your life.

  • @UniqelyNerdy Duh! Thats what i do with steel u rocket scientist. Fuck your sticks.

  • @Yrmwulf Have you ever taken a blow from one of these? Obviously not. Do you know anything about SCA combat? From the sounds of it, no.Think about what SCA fighting is for a second, here. You go out onto the field and fight, ACTUALLY fight with people. This means you are taking blows from two inch thick wooden rods from all angles to every part of your body, including your head. Now, do steel weapons sound like a sensible thing to be using while doing this?

  • @poopwadmcgee Steel Weapons still are more Badass, i dont like this SCA Stuff, its pseudo... A Stick is not a sword.
