What's happened to America is that you've got 2 types of people: arrogant people and guilty people. The problem is, neither one wants to make the necessary changes. The arrogant people don't recognize the problem, and the guilty people think they can solve problems purely with their and other people's money. It doesn't matter if it gets results as long as you're left with a clean conscience.

They are right about the empire thing. Empires always fall apart eventually. In the modern world, empires definitely don't last as long. I think by halfway through this century, the US will lose a great deal of power. Even the most stable empires have always declined, and the US is far from stable.
