Because it depends where peak power is. Without any knowledge of this car, if peak tq/hp is at 4000rpm and the hp curve hits the trough at 7k, then 7k is the best time to change gear. No point redlining it if it's just going to waste power output.

@skaterkid901 no, 7k is to eraly. Not the Max HP is decisive for a better accelation, but the torque on the road!
look; first; at 8k the engine habe 90% from the max. HP, but if you chance the gear, the engine was by 5k , and have there only 70% from the maximum HP. OK, maybe by 4k the enige have a little bit more torque, BUT!!! not on the read, because the gear is longer!!!! i hope you understand, my english is not god. FOR AN OPTIMIZED ACCELATION you must hold the engine arround max HP

man u should of hit redline in 1st gear would of saved half a sec

if you knew how to drive you wouldnt need a rebuild on an rx8 especially within waranty period

You can make power all the way to redline technically. Doesn't sound like there is any porting.

@jefecito87 there is no point in redling.if you knew anything about cars,you would understand that he is shifting where the most hp and tq are

i hate these stupid videos no one has enough balls to rev to red line i posted one i smashed it to the floor and held it there shot some flames and had fun not lightly tapped the damn gas like a grand ma other then that love rx7s my rx8 is in the shop lol i get to rev happy all the time and now its time for the rebuild thanks mazda for the warranty

Sounds like a rotary. i know its not an rx7. How can it be an rx7? never seen an FC with gauges like that. what am i missing here?

It's an RX7 FD, turbo gauge is RE amemiya. And 180Km/h is coz it's a japanese version.
