The Q-train does not look too bad just sittin' in the yard, but you can tell it a small model of a lot bigger (longer) train. Move in a little closer and it get toy like a lot more.

I put the train in track mode and ran it on the layout, it bottomed out on the first switch it came and derailed. also ir was running so fast at first the trainer car would just bounce off the track and be left behind. Once some fo the juice was drawn off the batteries and it slowed down it ran OK as long as there is nothing in the tracks like a switch or rerailer. it this next pic you can see it is high centered on the derailer.

This trains if built to run on a table top or floor and it does that Ok as long as you don't back up vary much. you have no real control of which way its going to go when backing up, you'll see that in the video

The Q-Train is made up of three units, the Power & Battery uints are connected together, the trailer just hooks the back with a loop and pin, its only there for looks I guess. the battery cover comes off with the tool found on the side of the remote.

Whan its all said and done, this can be a fun "Toy" to run on the floor of maybe a table top, but it really is not vary good on the rails and you would need a loop with not switches or crossing or rerailers or anything that it can bottom out on between the rails. was it worth the moeny I spent? I don't think so, as i wanted some thing that could run on the rails with out any trouble, and this thing would be nothing but trouble.

Here is what the real train looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipK2zttZOcI

Enjoy.

  • A rough start, but this is the future of model railroading.

  • In track mode, will it keep running on its own, or do you have to keep your hand on the r/c button? Thanks for posting!

  • i hate it

  • cool..!

  • LOL it falls over. can you connect more than one set?

  • Nice to see a Q-Train in action. Tempted to get one as they do look cool but probably wouldn't use it much.

Thanks for posting the info too.
