forgive my ignorance, but I have been away from ATVing for the last 20 years. Anyway, how do these compare to the old 250r's? Back then, 250r's were king of the hill.

@longlivethe80s It's fast but it's a lot heavier. It also has reverse and can lug up stuff without needing to be revved-up like you would a two-throke. Before it was the 250r's winning Baja, now it's the 700xx.

@redRiderEx Since the 700xx has been introduced it has had the fastest ATV times in S.C.O.R.E. - the 700XX has ALWAYS beet the 525's in Baja and the San Felipe races - not sure where you're getting your info from...

@scuzz700xx i guess it makes sense that they would win in bajas, i forgot baja wasnt a MX track.....i guess what i was gettin at was that the 525 was the fastest accel quad........my buddy has an 07 honda 450r, and the 09 XX and i got about 50-60 lbs on him, he lets me use the 450 cus its older, and it seems like the 450 spanks the 700 till about 4th-5th gear

@redRiderEx IMO - that really depends on the rider and mod for mod in a drag race it's a swap. There are a bunch of other videos with 700xx's dragging that kinda show this. In my opinion you're right though, it's not a MX machine. :)

For Baja you're in the top gears 99% of the time so you can see why they kick butt there when Matlock clocks @ 90 something MPH on his...

How do ya like that thing? I've always been a utility bike man, got a Grizzly 550, but now I'm looking for something with a lil more smoke. I really like all of the ground clearance that those things have and it seems you can find them dirt cheap because none of the sport quad guys seem to want them, they don't seem to like the IRS over the SRA, but for the type of rutted out trails we ride it would be a godsend
