A brief synopsis of the Jonathan Kozol book of the same name utilizing graphics to highlight key concepts with then intent of opening up a valid and legitimate conversation about race in our nation's schools. Kozol's quest to ignite understanding of the inequities of our schools is just and tireless. This video was created to both honor his revelations and bring them to the forefront of our collective conscience.

  • you spelled equality wrong at 1:00 (at least I think that is what you were trying to spell) ---you spelled equity--- which is something totally different--- but i would guess that there is not much equity in these schools either ;>p

  • Actually, "equity" is the more appropriate word, in terms of education. It's impossible for all students to be "equal" because they come from different backgrounds and skill sets. But we can have a environment that is "equitable" meaning despite the differences between students, we are fair and just.

  • @ajames95 well by definition of the word 'anonymous' meaning 'without name' if there is no name given in this instance that could/would still render the person they speak of as 'anonymous.'

  • De facto segregation is hardly "Apartheid."

  • Quick semantic lesson...if you know that the anonymous administrator is so-called black...then the person isn't anonymous.
