This MC says Terry Stafford wrote Suspicion? It was written by the legendary Hall of Famer Doc Pomus & his co writer Mort Shulman. I love Elvis- been to Graceland and more. But without a doubt Terry Stafford does the best job on this. He puts his own sound on it. It's all in the studio, production, engineering and artist that make the tune. Of course the song has to be there first. It all started with Doc.

It's bittersweet to see Terry just 9 years before his death, looking so healthy and happy. His version of Suspicion will always be the definitive version of the song. I don't think Elvis' version even comes close. God Bless Terry...we miss you and love you.

Elvis recorded the song first.. and it was an album track on the "Pot Luck" album. RCA didn't release Elvis version' of the song, as a single until after Terry's version had been released as a single. Too late and a missed opportunity for RCA and Elvis. The faster tempo and the girls doing the backing vocal.. add some magic to Terry's version. Both Terry Stafford and Elvis Presley do a great job on this song.
