  • Not only did Chamberlain and the 20th Maine repel the 15th Alabama but they also fought off elements of the 47th Alabama as well.

  • @deerhunter59ify I'm sorry to hear that. Still that's better than an ounce of lead.

  • Told ya I knew a little about Gettysburg...Thought you liked smart??

  • God's Will be done even though it may not sometimes agree with mine. He can see farther down the road than I can. God bless all those brave soldiers at Gettysburg both north and south. I can only hope they found peace in Him.

Age means nothing. You can be 15 and very mature, 35 and not. It becomes complicated when all people care about is being "better" or "cooler" or just simply "right".

  • @Mahbu kinda like the Britain, American argument that happens so often. "British people suck, Americans are cretins Obama sounds like Osama" i don't get it. we're adults so act like it lol goes for everyone whether your greek, persian, inuit, maybe even the welsh ;)

  • @Hardrada88

Because they are privileged bitch kids who are disenfranchised and tired of mediocrity so they cling to some dead cause from the past and bicker over it.

  • @47Nomad I have a 2d Great Uncle that was wounded at Gettysburg. He died a few days later and is buried in a Philadelphia cemetery. He was from Alabama.

  • How can you Americans still argue? I've reenacted as the south and north during various guest events before-your brothers for christ sake. I think when you walk on such ground you should never hold one higher than the other, the south went up there again and again, would you? and the north held their position and the charged despite heavy losses. why argue :) i was lucky to go to gettysburg and learn so much of your CW. irish, scots, american, english, french, german all fought in it for rights

  • At the end of the war, when Chamberlain (and Gordon) did the salute to the Confederates to resign them from the war. Chamberlain met the Col. of the 15th Alabama, and during their conversation the Col. said that he had his sights on Chamberlain 3 times, but something prevented him from firing the trigger on Chamberlain on July 2, 1863.

  • the stone wall was built on the 3rd day of the battle after the battle of little round top on the 2nd day. they didn't have time to build a stone wall since they arrived on the hill just in time for the first assault.
