Pete does his own fingerstyle arrangement of John Howard Payne's "Home, Sweet Home" on a Civil War-era Martin owned by his grandfather. Pete teaches guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo at Stacy's Music in Charlottesville. www.stacysmusic.com

  • Hi Pete, Could you share the chord to the song? My grandfather Spencer used to play that song in Piedmont style. Then Uncle Steve researched it and played it often. I didn't get a chance to fully learn it before both passed away. Just parts. Your version is the same rendition they did. I can see the basic A, D, E. During the bridge when you play on the 5th fret. Is that a D chord. And then the next 2 chords as you slide back to the A have me stumped. Great Song you do.

  • Great song and great pickin' !!

  • Heya Pete- from a friend in Europe. :) Lovely playing! Wish I had taken a few lessons from ya back in the day...
