A Timeline To The Rise and Fall Of Nickelodeon. RIP Nickelodeon 1977-2003

My Most Popular Video is Back Up!!!!!!! This Video had 500,000 views before it was taken Down by Hackers in July 2009.

Here is What it says at 4:35 of this video

1999 was the Biggest Year For Nickelodeon because Nick celebrated their 20th birthday. And What would a birthday be without a party, celebrities, and cake? Nickelodeon Had a Year long celebration That Included an exhibit honoring Nickelodeon's 20 Years of Television. Also in 1999 Nick GAS was created where Nickelodeon Game Shows could Air More Frequently. Nick GAS Ended on December 31st 2007 on cable/Directv and Dish Network till April 23rd 2009.
Also Launched in 1999 was Noggin,The Amanda Show,100 Deeds For Eddie Mcdowd, and Spongebob Squarepants, and at the 1999 Kids Choice Awards, Britney Spears gave a live performance via satellite from Flordia. While Singing she wore a tight-Fitting Shirt clearly showing she wasn't wearing a bra. This instant caused a lot of controversy with the network and the parents of the kids watching Nickelodeon.

  • epic final 1997-200 r.i.p nickelodeon haha

  • on teen nick they have shows from the 90s. such as kenan and kel,all that, etc.

  • Guys. open your eyeees!!! U cant stop growin up & Nickelodeon also cant stop that. In south america shows like Hey Arnold, Rocket Power, Angry Beavers, Rugrats, All grown up, Rockos modern life, etc are still on Nick. Nick was a good channel, NOW is an incredible one!

  • All Grown up... was not a good show. There were certainly better shows around than that at the time. Though I STILL watch Rugrats, Netflix helps.

  • Thank you for the retrospect, but I do have to insist on a correction, Nick Jr. did not launch until the late 80s after new episodes of Pinwheel were cancelled. I know a previous post made reference and you mentioned not to believe everything from Wikipedia, but Pinwheel is listed on schedules and TV Guides in 1987, from 1988 until the early 90s Pinwheel was rerun as part of the Nick Jr. block. If the network considered Nick Jr. active from 1984 it made no public note to viewers until 1988.

  • Rocket Power didn't come on Nick tell 1999.
