50 year ago the first Harrier prototype P.1127 made it's flight from Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey. Two returned today (18th November 2010) to mark the occasion.

Dunsfold is where the Harrier was manufactured at Dunsfold until 1988.

(Sorry about the video quality - a small digital camera is all I had at the time)

  • I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Watching the landing and take off later, was one of those Concorde moments, the end of an era. A date set for the history books. I was very fortunate in that I went over to see the aircraft and asked if I could sit in the cockpit of one of them. No problem was the reply and I had a nice chat with the Pilot.
