It won't work with the built in mic

Great review Gary.
I am also using the MacSpeech program as we speak. And I must say, that I'm totally thrilled with its capabilities. Even when I say something randomly, it somehow predicts what I was about to say... And even though my accent is a pretty bad Danish accent, it works just fine. :-) hey, would you look at that? When I say :-) it spells out the icon. I'm getting more and more thrilled by every minute, I love this new program! :-)

***For those without headsets***

I followed the instructions from the link, and MacSpeech works wonderfully for me. (I am using a Mac desktop, without a headset.)
Hope you don't mind, macmostvideo, just trying to help :-)
This is a few years old. How does the new one compare to the older one.

@TheCoolProfessor More features, faster, etc. I don't use it much. One thing that has happened in the last three users is that Dragon bought it. So the original version licensed the engine from Dragon. Now it IS Dragon.

do you need a special headset to use this or will any mic or headset work?

@darkmatter314 Most Mics/Headsets will work. If it works with your Mac, you can try to use it. Better quality will get better results. The software wants you to continue to use the same mic, though, so it can hear your voice the same way each time.
