HTC Wildfire S Warning

Although the HTC Wildfire S seems like a great phone, once you install and sync facebook contacts, "Contacts" bloats to 40-50MB and Internal Memory gets below 25MB. The phone does not sync mail and pretty much becomes useless. Facebook comes pre installed.
Of the 512 MB on the box only 150 is allocated to Internal Memory which is a big disappointment.
Although the problem and some fixes are documented here (http://www.htcwildfiresforum.com/htc-wildfire-s-general-discussion/wildfire-s-l­ow-internal-memory-aarggh/30/) it requires installation of the Android SDK, which in turn requires installation of the JAVA SE Development Kit (JDK) which is only available for 64 Bit Windows versions.

Did some reading what i need is some more user accessible ROM. This article explains ROM and RAM pretty well.

seems like a good phone but the only thing im truly concerned about is the memory. will getting a bigger memory card solve this or is it much more than that?

would this happen to people who aren't on a social networking site. what if someone was to just email their pics to themselves, rather than sync the phone to their facebook?

@teelily1 in my experience as long as you dont use the facebook application you will be fine. you can still use touch.facebook.com on the browser.

Same 2 me realy frustrating but with some things I clear data on there like every now and then I wipe the internet it uses like 4 mb so clear data and there Is 4 more but we shouldn't have to do that I paid a lot of money for this dam phone!

I had the exact same problem and i when the update came out it left me move one or two apps2sd and that freed up 3mb which gave me a whopping 8mb free whoo! yeah right. so i tried to cleaned the internal memory(factory resert in terms of internal memory) not sd card and intstalled app restore. When i got my apps back i move almost all of them except apps like tiKl and handcent now i have a 60.98mb Free :DD this might work for you give it a try
