newport wasn't very exciting lol some guy did get arrested outside our hotel window last night though it was interesting, he was shouting lots of things.... my mom brought me a DVD of when JB was on SNL lol she thought i may not have seen it lol ok i'm done rambling on to the story:
Devon's P.O.V.
I woke up the next morning wondering what Joe had planned for me that night. Joe told me that I should take the day off and go skating, to which I gladly agreed. I hadn't been skating as much as I used to, but I could still do everything even though I was 21, which some people may consider old to keep skating, but not for me. I got home around 4:00 and Joe told me to get ready because he had made reservations for 6:00
"You look perfect," Joe told me as we went to the restaurant.
"Thanks," I said smiling.
We drove to my favorite restaurant in the city that we didn't go to often because it was expensive. While we ate we talked about the last two weeks and how I was finally done with school.
"Any particular reason why your doing this?" I asked suspiciously.
"Nope," Joe said smiling, but I was still a little suspicious. "I was thinking we could go to the beach after this," he said. Okay something was definitely up.
"Uh sure," I replied. We got the check, paid, and left for the beach.
"Let's build a sandcastle!" Joe said excitedly.
"Oh my God yes! I haven't done that in forever!" I said as we spent about an hour and a half making the best sandcastle ever.
"I think that this is the best sandcastle anyone has ever built," Joe said laughing.
"I would have to agree," I said looking at the castle we had just built. It was huge, it had multiple towers and of course a moat. It was very detailed.
We then turned to admire the sunset that was just about to fade behind the horizon of the ocean. It was amazing and I turned towards Joe to see his reaction and I pretty much freaked out. There he was on one knee with a ring and I almost forgot how to breath.
"Devon, will you marry me?" he asked.
"Oh my God, yes!! Of course! Wow," I said with excitement as Joe slid the ring onto my finger and gave me a kiss, which was probably a good thing because if not I probably would have continued to ramble on saying things like "yes, this is amazing, I can't believe it," and other things.
"Well, are you ready to go home?" Joe asked.
"Yeah," I said smiling, still in a bit of a daze. "Pinch me," I said a few minutes later.
"Uh why?" Joe asked confused.
"I want to make sure this isn't a dream," I said.
"Okay," Joe replied pinching me.
"Ow! Not that hard you idiot," I said laughing.
"I'm sorry," Joe said kissing me. "Better?" he asked.
"Definitely," I replied. By this time we got back to the house and when we entered everyone was there and I mean everyone: Sam, Sara, Nick, Kevin, Amanda, and Namra. Apparently they knew.
"Congrats!" everyone said giving me hugs.
"What if I said no?" I asked seriously, I'm actually surprised how serious I was able to reply.
"Girl are you crazy?" Sam asked me and everyone looked at Joe who was trying to look upset, but wasn't as convincing as me.
"I'm totally kidding," I said laughing.
"Good because I would have sent you to have your brain checked if you said no," Sara laughed.
The next 7 months or so Joe and I spent planning the wedding, well actually it was mostly me and then I would make sure it was fine with Joe. I sat at the table with papers around me putting the final touches on the wedding. It was January and even though the wedding wasn't until May all the dresses had been picked out and everything had been figured out. My phone started ringing next to me and after searching for it and finally finding it hidden under several layers of paper I answered Sam's call.
what does Sam want? hmm... i wonder lol comment!!!!
