its the "atunnel" screensaver running behind as my desktop =)
but you can choose any screensaver that you like as your wallpaper =)

command in terminal:

xwinwrap -ni -o 0.20 -fs -s -sp -st -b -nf -- /usr/lib/xscreensaver/glmatrix -root -window-id WID

where you can change the "glmatrix" to any screensaver you like :)
to end the wallpaper animation, just exit terminal

if you have any questions you COULD ask me, BUUT, i doubt if i'd be able to answer them ... .because i am a complete newbie to ubuntu and linux :)

BUT ... i learnt to do this from this link :

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=812636

enjoy :)

AND you do not need to lose your desktop icons ;-)

  • What's that 3d weather applet?

  • hey there!

this was a while ago, but if i remember correctly ... the weather applet is just the standard weather widget that comes inside cairo-dock ... once u select to display this applet inside cairo-docks settings it will pop-up on the dock itself ..and after that, just right click the widget's icon and tell cairo-dock to 'detach from dock'

    ;-)

    enjoy!! :)

  • woops! forgot to say

the "3d" comes from just one of the themes that u can choose inside the widgets options shown in the cairo-dock settings window :)

unfortunately, i really cant remember what the exact name was because i no longer have this 'same desktop' config anymore after i upgraded to Karmic koala :-/

but it shud be fairly easy to find in the widgets settings :)

    goodluck! :)

  • Menus works also on my Fedora 11.

Only the icons was loses, when i return to my home i work to fix the icons problem an i do another video :)

Maybe i will ask you to fix the icons problem.

I think that the source of the problem is xwinwrap (an option of xwinwrap)

    Thanks, regards

  • heheehe

i just linked this video as a 'response' to your video because they seemed related =)

i really dont know a lot about linux, but i love how much it can be customized, & i love to try out new things on it, after reading tutorials =) =)

aaaand to get the icons on the desktop, just DONT 'uncheck' the 'show icons' option of nautilus using gconf-editor =)

as long as the screensaver isnt set to 100% opacity, u'll still see the icons ;) :)

lemme know if i can try help in any other way :) :)

  • eheehhe!

i realized that as soon as i started using the pc after posting this vid :P
