Recorded on June 6, 2003. Short video overlooking the city of Roanoke, Virginia from the Star Overlook on Mill Mountain. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 94,911. The city is bisected by the Roanoke River. Roanoke is the commercial and cultural hub of much of the surrounding area of Virginia and southern West Virginia.

@BeUnbroken In terms of live music, you'll hear a lot more rock, blues and jazz here than country. The "country" you find around here is mostly good bluegrass and roots music.

Just to be clear... the "city" of Roanoke has a pop. of 95k, but it's separated into city and county in an unnatural way for traditional demographics. The contiguous surrounding county has an additional ~95k, and Salem (contiguous to the west) has an additional ~25k. So it's a bit north of 210k for the immediate Roanoke city area, and over 300k for the MSA. This isn't a 95k-size city by any means.
