Animals of Botswana: African Hunting Dog

An endangered species, we were fortunate to photograph a small pack of African hunting dogs (African Wild Dog) during our morning game drive at Machaba as they were leaving on a hunt. We caught them again late in the aftermnoon.

They do not have domestic dog in there ancestry.That is like saying that the african buffalo may have domestic cattle in it's ancestry.They evolved just like wolves but in another part of the world.

If you visit the region on google earth, you will find it rural and a harsh land scape.

Natural selection at its finest.I wonder if they had domestic dog in their ancestry and reverted back to a complete wild animal not feral.What I'm wondering is if dogs come from wolves what do they come from.

Hey could I use some of this footage in a music video I am making? I had originally planned to make a movable model for stop motion, but the actual animal would look way better. I would be programing spider legs onto the back of one. I will give you credit and link it back to your account. Unfortunately I won't be listing the credits on the actual video as I am not even listing myself. I am only listing the song and band like in most music videos. All credits
