Down-voted because you didn't provide any schematics or remotely useful information. You said that you used frequency modulation, but unless you have a tunable laser that is not possible. I suspect you may have really meant pulse frequency modulation.

@MrSean364 actually you have no idea how this technology works. This technology is closer to a needle on a record rather than a optical laser reading CDs. Its reading the intensity off the laser like grooves in vinyl. Betta recognize, cause shit is mind blowing.

Make a second one & wire in a couple of mic's & you can talk to your neighbor in the middle of the night.

You're thinking of digital audio, 1's and 0's. This uses the of amplitude modulation, which is an analogue method of carrying a signal. The audio input is controlling the intensity of the laser (the amplitude), the light is received at the other end, and then it's demodulated/amplified back into a usable signal.

HOLY SHIT!!!
Old technology, this has been used for decades already. Think CD, DVD and Blu-ray players, and optical audio. Also used on hard drives. His is just a hand-held version. Impresive for made at home nontheless, but not relativly new technology.

@MrSean364 the concept and technology is not new of course, but CD and DVD players work on an entirely different principle.

How do you modulate the signal?
Anquav 1 year ago
@Anquav by using an FM modulator
