I know how her master feels, my dog had gastrointeritis(spelling?) and our vet said had we not gotten her there in time, she would have died. She's never had a dog survive with that kind of thing before and ours was her first.
absolutely amazing and so very educational! I have been interested recently in parasitic invasions, and this is a new one for me! I am more familiar with the ascaris, botfly larvae, tumbu larvae, etc. Thank you so much, and what a well done video!
That was really interesting! It's amazing how those worms were all coiled up in Rosie's kidney and abdomen! And the surgical procedure was quite fascinating, too!
horrifying creatures indeed. apparently they are unnoticed by the host because they devour the nerves in the area, allowing them to grow to extreme size without the host feeling there presence. very antagonistic.
This is just like the monty python skit on molluscks, except without the sex-life of the giant kidney worm. This would be a goood thing to mention in a future skit of the giant kidney worm.
